| Let's Talk About It, A Prostate Health Program |
The goal of Let’s Talk About It: A Prostate Health Program for African American Men is to provide African American men with current, accurate and reliable information on prostate cancer screening and treatment options. Armed with this information, men are encouraged to have conversations with their own physicians about prostate cancer, and determine whether screening is right for them. This process enables men to make informed decisions about their health. Complementing its overall goal, Let’s Talk About It: A Prostate Health Program for African American Men is designed to meet the following objectives: Along with these educational objectives, the program is intended to encourage men to: Let’s Talk About It, A Prostate Health Program for African American Men is an easy-to-use program that is based on a simple design that includes seven essential elements (listed below), and a core set of information materials. These seven components are necessary to ensure that the intended program results are achieved. Chapters can use these elements and materials to develop education tailored to the population in their local communities.
